Rumors circulate that Comcast will buy NBC Universal
Late last night, “The Wrap”, an entertainment news site, issued a report/rumor/what have you, claiming that Comcast had reached an agreement to buy NBC Universal from General Electric.
Comcast immediately came back denying an agreement had been reached, but did not deny that talks had taken place: “While we do not normally comment on M&A rumors, the report that Comcast has a deal to purchase NBC Universal is inaccurate.”
Allegedly, the deal would be worth $35 billion and would put NBC, Universal Studios, and a slew of TV channels under direct control of Comcast.
I will update as more news prevails.
