Mark LaNeve, vice president of General Motors U.S. sales, out!
Fritz Henderson, CEO of General Motors, announced Wednesday morning that Mark LaNeve, vice president of U.S. sales, will be leaving. No replacement has been announced, to date, however LaNeve is expected to exit by October 15.
Mark LaNeve might have seen this coming in recent months, GM has cut about a third of its management ranks since emerging from bankruptcy. Not to mention when Bob Lutz decided to stay, Lutz took over marketing and LaNeve’s role was shrunk solely to sales duties.
According to Fritz Henderson, a replacement is yet to be selected, but it is fair to expect the company will be finding one in the near future; that is if they already haven’t.
“Mark has contributed significantly to GM in several key positions, including transforming the Cadillac brand and leading the vehicle sales, service and marketing organization during one of the most challenging periods in GM’s history,” Henderson said in a statement. “I’d like to thank Mark for his dedication and wish him and his family well as he moves to a key position at another company.”
Change should not be too drastic in this interim period. According to General Motors, Jim Bunnell, general manager of U.S. sales, and his team will continue to follow through with GM’s dealer network plans.
