Let’s get Fat-Tuesday: free food across the board

Today is Fat Tuesday, the culmination of Mardi Gras and the last day to get out all of your demons before the start of Lent. Seemingly in an attempt to keep true to the name Fat-Tuesday, chain restaurants across the country are giving away free food. Here is the run down of all free food giveaways I was able to find for today, February 24, 2009.

IHOP Free Pancakes

The free pancakes are available at your local IHOP until 10 p.m. tonight. It’s not all-you-can-eat, but IHOP will give you a free short stack, which contains three buttermilk pancakes. No forms to fill out, no coupons, all you have to do is ask.

IHOP does request that you consider making a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network or another local charity that supports children’s hospitals in your area. Last year, IHOP raised $875,000 as part of its National Pancake Day celebration. IHOP is hoping to reach the $1 million mark this go-round.

Jack in the Box Free Tacos

Follow the link and print out the coupon to receive two Jack in the Box Free Tacos. It is as easy as that! No weird hours or ‘spend a certain amount’ caveats, Jack in the Box is giving you two tacos, absolutely free.

Free Dr. Pepper

Yes, yes, yes! I have to say that I really think that Quizno’s is the must underrated sub-joint. Well aside from Togo’s. I do love the Togo’s Turkey Avocado…mmm…. Anyway, as for Quizno’s, every sandwich that I can remember having from there has been delicious. Don’t believe me? On the fence? Well, go see for yourself. It also is worth noting that Girl Scout Cookies sales end on Friday. Fat Tuesday seems an appropriate time to make your final stockpile of Girl Scout Cookies.
