Heineken to take over Dos Equis, Tecate, and Sol

Colossal Dutch brewmaker, Heineken, has won the battle for Femsa, the Mexican producer of Dos Equis, Tecate and Sol. In an all-stock deal, Heineken has agreed to pay the equivalent of $7.6 billion (including debt). For years, Heineken was the biggest beer import for the U.S., however, was passed by Corona. This move will definitely improve Heineken’s market share in the U.S. and may lead it back to the number 1 spot. Rumors of the deal have been going on since October; Heineken and SABMiller were considered to be the two top bidders.
