The Financial Times has named Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein “Person of the Year”.

MY TAKE:

While Blankfein and Goldman Sachs were able to dodge the financial crisis better than most others on Wall Street, (to the point that Goldman Sachs is reportedly set to turn record profits this year as well as pay out an astonishing $23 billion in bonuses to its staff of nearly 32,000) it is a bit interesting that a man who is running a company that is currently under investigation by the federal government would receive such an award. Not to mention that he apologized last month for Goldman Sachs’ role in the financial crisis.
