Continental agrees to a deal with Aircell

continental_airlinesContinental Airlines announced that they have chosen the Aircell Gogo Inflight Internet service for providing in-flight wireless internet to their passengers.

Other Aircell subscribers include Air Canada, AirTran Airways, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines (and Northwest), United Airlines, US Airways and Virgin America. It is estimated that by the end of 2009 the Gogo Inflight service be aboard more than 700 planes.

Continental will start working in Q2 2010, and offer Gogo Inflight on their fleet of 21 Boeing 757-300 aircraft.

According to “The Wandering Aramean“, Continental is still committed to two different systems (Gogo Inflight and the JetBlue LiveTV developed Kiteline) so a fleetwide rollout of the Gogo Inflight system shouldn’t be expected anytime in the near future.
