1 million baby play yards recalled
One million play yards have been recalled by the CPSC and Kolcraft Enterprises due to the prevalent risk of injury for children using the products. The play yards, sold under 7 brand names, apparently come with faulty side rails that have a tendency to unlatch unexpectedly. CSPC and Kolcraft Enterprises have received 347 reports of rail collapses, to date, resulting in 21 injuries. The injuries were mostly scrapes and bruises, however one case reported that a child actually suffered a concussion.
If you or a friend own a play yard sold under the brands Kolcraft, Carter’s, Sesame Street, Jeep, Contours, Care Bear, and Eric Carle, please visit the CPSC’s website to see if your model has been recalled.
